LMCJ SUMMER!
Middle Grades Partnership
Each Middle Grades Partnership program is uniquely crafted by teachers from both a Baltimore City public school and its private school partner. For the Lillie May ~ Roland Park partnership, we focus on providing engaging summer academic programming to empower girls to be leaders and learners!
Middle Grades Partnership
LMCJ is excited to partner with Middle Grades Partnership (MGP) for another year! MGP’s vision is to prepare students citywide for rigorous high school instruction across subjects. MGP partners public schools with independent/private schools and provides both school year programming and a summer camp, both free of charge. This year, our school year portion of the program is run by CenterStage and is working with participants from LMCJ and Roland Park Country School to create and tell original stories with the help of different forms of media.
Our MGP summer experience, Growing Girls and Gardens (GGG), exposes girls both to enrichment in reading, writing and math but also provides them with the chance to grow, harvest and cook with their own vegetables and take classes in Dance and Art. Last year, our girls also went to the Air and Space Museum in Washington, DC and took a workshop at CenterStage to learn a dance routine. Camp culminates in a reception where Scholars show their summer projects, their artwork and the choreographed dance they have learned.
