What is the
Annual Fund?
The Annual Fund is our invitation to give flexible, unrestricted support to LMCJ. It helps the school respond to priorities across teaching, scholar experiences, and the care that makes a strong learning community possible.
Lillie May is a tuition-free public charter school. Philanthropy is a way for families, alumnae, friends, businesses, and neighbors to invest in the richness of a girl’s education and the school community around her.
Unrestricted giving lets school leadership use your gift where it is most needed. If you have a specific purpose in mind, please discuss it with us before making a restricted gift.

Give to the Annual Fund.

The Annual Fund supports Lillie May’s everyday priorities. PayPal, Givebutter, a check, or a coordinated gift can all be ways to support it.
Please denote “Annual Fund” in the memo, designation, or note field where available. If your payment method has no place for a note, contact us with your name, gift date, and intended purpose so we can identify your gift.
PayPal
Use our existing PayPal donation option and identify your gift as Annual Fund where a note is available. If there is no note field, let us know your intention separately.
Givebutter
Open our giving hub, select Donate, and add “Annual Fund” in the available note or comment field. Choose a one-time or monthly gift.
Check
Write “Annual Fund” in the memo. Please contact us to confirm the check payee before mailing to LMCJ, 2200 Sinclair Lane, Baltimore, MD 21213.
Donor-advised fund
Recommend a grant for Annual Fund support. Contact us first to confirm the school’s legal recipient information and any documentation your fund sponsor needs.
Employer matching
Your employer may match an eligible gift made through your preferred method. Identify the original gift and intended Annual Fund support when requesting our help with the match.
Stock or another arranged gift
Discuss Annual Fund support through securities, a larger gift, or installments. Please obtain confirmed acceptance and verified receiving instructions from the school before initiating a transfer.
Annual Fund is the purpose of your gift; your payment service is the way you send it.

Gifts received through PayPal, checks, or another method are included in the relevant campaign’s public total after staff verify and record them. They may not appear immediately. Your payment confirmation and the school’s acknowledgment help document your gift.

Legacy Builders began with a simple invitation: $20 a month to support Lillie May. You can join at that amount or choose a monthly gift that fits your life.
Choose a monthly option where your preferred giving service offers one, and identify your intended support as Annual Fund. On Givebutter, select Donate and choose monthly. Review the amount, frequency, and payment details before submitting.
Already giving monthly? Thank you. Keep your current plan, even if its campaign has an older event title. A refreshed website does not require a new subscription.

Illustrations assume 12 completed monthly gifts. These are examples, not required giving levels, purchased benefits, or costs assigned to a particular scholar or program. Every amount is welcome.

Can I give once instead of monthly?
Yes. Choose the method that works for you from the Annual Fund giving options. General one-time and monthly gifts both provide unrestricted school support unless a different purpose is agreed with LMCJ.
How do I manage an existing monthly gift?
For Givebutter, use the portal or recurring-plan link in one of your receipt emails to review your plan, change payment details, or cancel future payments. You do not need to open a new plan to replace an expired card.
If your gift was set up through PayPal, manage that subscription through PayPal. Contact us if you cannot locate your plan, need a receipt, or want help understanding its purpose.
Can I arrange a larger gift or a pledge?
We welcome a conversation about the amount, timing, intended use, and any installment schedule you have in mind. Contact us so the arrangement can be confirmed together before you make a commitment.
Does a gift affect enrollment or school participation?
A gift is a voluntary expression of support. Please use the school’s published admissions and enrollment process for enrollment questions. Families can also contribute time, expertise, and encouragement; a financial gift is not the only way to belong.
Can my employer match my gift?
Ask your employer whether it matches charitable gifts and what its application requires. We can help confirm recipient information and complete the school portion of a request. Eligibility and match amounts depend on your employer’s rules.
